Neeltje Timmers is the regional coordinator for the Netherlands.
In recent years, in addition to her work in art education, Neeltje was active as chairman of the board of Het Curaçaosch Museum in Curaçao. She also worked as a project officer on various art and cultural heritage programmes in a variety of disciplines, such as Monumentu Habrí and Kunstkamer Otrobanda.
At the Mondriaan Fund, Neeltje was active as an advisor for multiple years. In this role, she searched for connections between what lives on the streets and what is needed for art and heritage, both on a national level and at specific locations. After her recent return to European Netherlands, she focuses on strengthening networks and making new connections throughout the country.
On the position of regional coordinator:
‘It is good to see an increasing focus on applications from outside the Randstad. For me personally, this development is enriching. I think it is important not to start from one dominant vision or culture, but to give every angle an equal chance to create. I look forward to joining forces with the regional agents and building sustainable collaborations with all parties involved in the regions.’
