From 1 January 2025, we welcome 23 new advisors to our pool of advisors. The entry of these advisors will enrich the pool with knowledge on heritage, visual arts, diversity & inclusion and knowledge in various regions. In the selection process, the overall composition of advisory committees plays the most important role. We look for the right combination of experts so that diverse expertise and backgrounds are represented in our committees. In the selection, additional consideration is given to regional spread and different perspectives in the overall composition of the pool of advisors.
As of 1 January 2025, the pool of advisors consists of 99 advisors. The new advisors are: Adriënne van der Werf, Bram Kuypers, Charlotte Franzen, Dani Ploeger, Dave Damen, Dave Vanderheijden, Hans Berende, Helena Julian, Hristina Tasheva, Jantina van der Broek, Johny van Eerden, Laura Smeets, Linda Köke, Luuk Wilmering, Macarena Loma Yevenes, Maze de Boer, Ryan Oduber, Sami Hammana, Sarah van Lamsweerde, Sigrid Van Roode, Sjoerd Kloosterhuis, Wim Hupperetz and Zoë van Ree.
At the Mondriaan Fund, independent advisors assess applications in a careful, expert, impartial manner. These are experts from the field such as artists, curators, critics, art historians, museum staff and others who can assess the developments of visual art and cultural heritage.
Advisors are invited to participate in committee meetings. We have several chairmen who each chair dozens of meetings.
The list of advisors is an annually rotating pool of experts with diverse backgrounds and specialisms. In principle, an advisor is appointed for 2 years, with a possible extension of up to another 2 years. Each year, the pool is replenished with new advisors. We put out an annual call for this in July and August.
We thank the advisors we will say goodbye to at the end of this year. They have played a valuable role for the visual arts and cultural heritage sector: Afaina de Jong, Alex van Stipriaan, Ardjuna Candotti, Benoît Mater, Davida de Hond, Elise ‘t Hart, Jasper van Es, Julius Thissen, Maziar Affrasiabi, Michel Hommel, Neeltje Timmers, Robin Waart and Ton Kruse.
