Joël Riff is a french curator. He was appointed by Fondation Albert Gleizes at Moly-Sabata in 2014, France’s oldest artist-in-residence located in Rhône riverside, and by Fondation d’entreprise Hermès at La Verrière in 2022, its Brussels’ exhibition space amongst four across the world.
He currently develops programs for both, commissioning ambitious productions with a peculiar scope for crafts. He writes texts for artists, galleries and institutions, contributes to Revue de la Céramique et du Verre, and takes part to CNAP acquisition committee for Decorative Arts. As a jury member or a lecturer, he is invited in arts and design schools throughout Europe. In 2023, his projects include solo shows by Marion Verboom (FR) and Anne Marie Laureys (BE), residencies by Salvatore Arancio (IT), Hugo Capron (FR) and Michael Dean (UK), painting masterclasses, pottery markets, as well as the group show « Caca bleu véritable ».
