Sonia González has been director of the exhibition house Villa Schöningen in Potsdam since 2020. With her diverse program of contemporary art, she aims to create, offer and constantly develop a place of encounter and debate in the historic rooms of architect Ludwig Persius.
Before joining the Galerie Thomas Zander Cologne as a permanent employee, she was responsible for publications such as “The Color Gray. Gerhard Richter, Michael Schmidt”, she gained several years of experience in exhibition and museum operations in various institutions in Hamburg. This included the redesign of the wayfinding system for the Museum of Hamburg History and the development of new mediation formats for the Museum für Kunst & Gewerbe.
She graduated from Hamburg University of Fine Arts with Prof. Thomas Demand and Prof. Michael Diers.
