Adriana is an Art Historian and Independent Curator from Mexico, currently living and working in Zürich. In 2017 she co-founded the independent art space la_cápsula, which focuses on the exchange between the cultural production of Latin America and Switzerland.
Adriana specializes in Latin American contemporary art and her curatorial strategy mixes theory, critical thinking and humor to address current social, political and environmental issues through art exhibitions. She graduated in Art History from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and did an MAS in Curating at ZHdK (Zürich). She worked as Assistant Curator for Museo Tamayo in Mexico City until she moved to Switzerland in 2013. Since then, she has worked for art galleries and as an independent curator and author. In autumn 2023, she will start teaching at the MA Curatorial Studies of ZHdK. My curatorial practice focuses on the exchange between the contemporary artistic production of Latin America and Switzerland. In the past five years I have organized more than 20 exhibitions bringing into dialogue the work of artists coming from both geographical regions.
