Claire is Senior Curator at Tramway, a large multidisciplinary venue in Glasgow, Scotland. A former Tram depot, the venue houses both theatres and galleries including one of the largest art spaces in the UK. Since 2008 Claire has overseen an ambitious programme of new commissions in Tramways galleries and expanded the gallery programme to include interdisciplinary and offsite programmes.
Her curatorial approach embraces worldbuilding and accessible, inclusive and performative approaches to exhibition making. Curated exhibitions include 2024 Turner Prize winning project Alter Altar by Jasleen Kaur; Delaine Le Bas Delainia Unfolding, Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran Idols of Mud & water; Nick Cave UNTIL; Cecile B Evans Amos World, Sarah Lucas retrospective exhibition, Mark Leckey Nobodaddy, Martine Syms She Mad; Cathy Wilkes solo exhibition; Zadie Xa Child of Magohalmi; Pia camil Bara, Bara, Bara. Claire is a selector for the British Pavilion at Venice and was the Curator of the Turner Prize in 2015. Prior to Tramway as Assistant Curator at ICA London, Curator of CCA Glasgow, and Curator of Glasgow International.
