Janneke de Vries is director of the GAK Gesellschaft für Aktuelle Kunst in Bremen (since 2008). Before she was Head of the Kunstverein Braunschweig and worked as curatorial assistant at the Kunstverein Hamburg, freelance art critic, freelance curator, editor of a regional art magazine and university lecturer. She published several texts on contemporary art and artists for catalogues and magazines.
In addition to solo exhibitions with a.o. Cezary Bodzianowsky, Shannon Bool, Vlassis Caniaris, Anetta Mona Chisa & Lucia Tkacova, Mariechen Danz, Koenraad Dedobeleer, FOS, Sanya Kantarovsky, Matt Mullican, Kate Newby, Peles Empire, Kathrin Sonntag, John Stezaker, Mark Wallinger and Cathy Wilkes, she organized international group exhibitions which focus upon different social and cultural relevant contents like Space Revised.
