Theo Mario Coppola

He is a graduate of Sciences Po Toulouse and has a master’s degree (Master II) in Political Sociology of Representations and Cultural Expertises. From 2016 to 2018, he has taught political sociology and international relations at Sciences Po Toulouse.

From 2017 to 2018, he has launched and directed Collezione Taurisano, private collection in Naples.
He is vice-chair at C-E-A, French association of curators and represent the association at CIPAC, contemporary art professionals association. In Paris, he is also head curator of art residence project Primo Piano & Intermezzo (Baha Görkem Yalım in 2018, Gaetano Cunsolo in 2017).

As an independent curator and art critic, Théo-Mario Coppola has led projects in France and internationally among which Villa Pazza at Villa Medici (2018, Rome), Of Encounters and Other Collective Readings, Carlos Alfonso, Galerie Paris-Beijing (2018, Paris) Great Expectations, Amalia Ulman (2015, Venice), Anaxagore, Enzo Mianes, Galerie mor charpentier (2016, Paris), Le Paradis, un peu plus loin, Galerie dix9 (2016, Paris), Tongue Story, Charlie Malgat, SARDINE, (2017, New York), In Translation, Pracownia Portretu (2017, Lodz), Là-Bas, Glassbox (2017, Paris), Freak Park, Villa Belleville (2017, Paris), and also HOTEL EUROPA an ongoing project including two past exhibitions, Europe as a concept, as a project, as a community in 2017 in Vilnius, and Continent des Anecdotes at Galerie Félix Frachon in 2018 in Brussels.

Coppola was curator of the white night at Villa Medici in Rome (25th of October 2018) with VILLA PAZZA, a unique curatorial project gathering artists, art historian, musicians, architects, designers and writers (Rebecca Digne, Lola Gonzàles, Lili Reynaud-Dewar, Riccardo Venturi among others). In 2019, Théo-Mario Coppola will collaborate with Nathalie Talec and Fabrice Hubert at the occasion of their exhibition Coup de Foudre at Espace Electra, Fondation EDF in Paris. In June 2019, he will be in a writing residency at Casa Lu, Mexico City, Mexico.
