Yoriko Ishizawa studied architecture and worked as an interior designer in London. After coming back to Japan she spent working in urban planning projects in Tokyo as a public art manager. With her strong interest to traditional Japanese crafts, she start working with ceramic projects in Arita, Japan since 2015.
Ishizawa has a base in Kyoto, Arita and Eindhoven establishing an independent art and design craft collective which actively bridges the creative culture worlds of Japan and Europe. She works as a project-programme director for the artists and designers in residency programme in Arita, Japan, Creative Residency Arita, which enables two contrasting cultures to break new ground together and foster a new period of creativity.
